Windows 95 Shell Update 


This update to SHELL32.DLL provides browsing of printers from the Add Printer wizard, which is found in the Printers folder (provided you have installed Service for NetWare Directory Services). 

This patch also fixes the situation where files copied onto themselves may be truncated to a zero byte file size. This situation occurs only in the following specific circumstances: 

- When copying a file onto itself using two different views of the same network resource (these can be different mapped drive letters or UNC connections to a network resource) 
OR
- When copying a file onto itself using a drive created by the SUBST command

NOTE: This update is for the English version of Windows 95 only. Localized versions will be made available at a later date. 

1. Open the file, "Windows 95 Shell Update." 
2. Choose "Open" or "Run" to install the patch immediately. 
- OR - 
Save the file in an empty folder on your PC. Once the file is saved, go to the folder on your hard drive where the file is now located. Double click on "shellupd.exe" to install the patch. 3. Restart your computer to complete the update.
