today announced immediate availability of Hayes CENTURY 8 and Hayes
CENTURY 16.  These convenient rack mount systems are equipped with
OPTIMA 288 V.34 modems, Hayes fastest business modems.  Each OPTIMA
modem in a  CENTURY rack provides up to 230,400 bit/s -twice the
throughput of most other modems.

     CENTURY 8 and CENTURY 16 offer MIS managers, LAN administrators and
systems operators powerful solutions for remote node access, remote
control and fax server applications. Dial out applications include fax
transmission and information service access.  CENTURY 8 and CENTURY 16
are pre-assembled and preconfigured for quick, easy installation.  The
products support Flash ROM upgradability for safe, flexible,
downloadable firmware upgrades and hot swappable cards keep
communications flowing.

     CENTURY 8 is available for the estimated retail price of US$4,695
and CENTURY 16 is available for the estimated retail price of US$9,495.
CENTURY products come with a one-year warranty that can be extended for
four more years, for a fee, to a total of five years when a CENTURY
product is registered within 90 days of purchase by mail or by using
Hayes Online, Hayes Bulletin Board System, in the U.S. and Canada only.
