Thanks for downloading this significant upgrade!  To my knowledge, over 2,000 people have used the original version of APWRITER, and have been waiting for this upgrade for quite awhile.  If you're new to these macros, keep reading!

Whether you're a writer or not, you're bound to find something useful in APWRITER if you use Ami Pro on a regular basis.  This file includes macros (and other files) to:  "time" your documents for speeches/plays/readings; figure out the correct postage for sending your documents via US mail -- with or without a Self-Addressed stamped envelope; automatically keep track of postage costs and writing submissions; keep a dated "journal" which automatically dates and organizes your ideas/writings; check your writing for redundancies and automatically consider optional words; view important statistics about your writing WHILE you write your drafts (including a "typing rate" guage for secretarial skills); go straight to the "readability statistics" in the grammar check without waiting while Ami Pro checks your grammar; critique fiction in a form for writer's workshops; find Ami Pro resources on the Internet; and more!

This version (2.0) is a significant upgrade to the original APWRITER.ZIP!  Nearly all of the files in the first version have now been streamlined, edited for efficiency, and updated to reflect current standards (most importantly the "postage meter" macro (called stamps.smm) has been updated to reflect current 1st class US mailing rates -- finally!).  There are also several new macros, stylesheets, and documents enclosed, including an HTML file for viewing in your World Wide Web browser (if you have one), which contains hot links to good Ami Pro sites on the Internet!

AFTER UNZIPPING THIS FILE INTO A SEPARATE DIRECTORY, PLEASE READ APWRITER.SAM IN AMI PRO FOR IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING AND/OR UPGRADING THESE FILES. APWRITER.SAM ALSO INCLUDES INFORMATION ON HOW TO UTILIZE THE FILES CONTAINED IN THIS FILE EFFICIENTLY.

These macros were written using Ami Pro 3.01 for Windows; they are not guaranteed to work on all versions of Ami Pro or Word Pro (especially the macros related to spell/grammar checking), though there is a strong likelihood that many of them WILL work in all lotus versions.  They have also been tested in Windows95 and appear to work quite well.  When in doubt, try it out.  You'll be surprised!
