This amazing show, which already has audiences raving, opened July 1st and continues through August 31, 1995. Show times are Monday and Tuesday 7:30 pm; Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 7:30 & 10 pm (Dark Fridays). Tickets are $15 with a one-drink minimum Sunday - Thursday; $19 with a one-drink minimum on Saturday. For tickets, call TicketMaster at 1-800-736-1420. In May, 1995, Brett amazed millions of viewers when he defied death in his appearance on the NBC special "Houdini: Unlocking His Secrets." Brett recreated Houdnini's final and most dangerous stunt, "The Water Torture Cell." Daniels has an enviable record of awards including the coveted grand prize in the 1994 "World Challenge Invitational" in which magicians from 12 countries competed. The award was presented by Siegfried & Roy at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Brett was the featured attraction in the November, 1994 NBC special "World's Greatest Magic II," which was the highest rated special at NBC since 1981. He was also the star performer on TNN's Gatlin Brothers Special variety show in 1994. Internationally recognized, he has appeared extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and Japan. An innovator, Brett Has created more than 75% of his never-before-seen illusions. As one reviewer noted, "Brett Daniels must be seen to be believed. He is uncanny." Now known to millions of TV viewers, Brett is continuing his world tour highlighted by his engagement at the Claridge in Atlantic City. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Editors Note: Monday, July 10th was the Press Opening and Reception for Brett Daniels and I was glad to be invited by Sid Ascher and take part in this event. My virgin visit to the Claridge makes me eagerly await the next opportunity, for the "50-cent tour." In a nut-shell, there were 3 things that impressed me: (1) His hands. Take away all the stage props and gizmos, and you can't help but notice the hands and what he can do with them. He told the audience that he has been practicing day and night for 20 years. Watch his hands and watch very closely. Cards, coins, little white balls, and of course, handkerchiefs. It's the hands, I tell you. (2) The birds. My wife informs me that there were 2 macaws and 1 cockatoo involved with the act. (3) Tradition. While Brett may be called innovative, he is also dedicated to the tradition set by past- masters of the art. And you will see him perform many of these wonderful tricks and illusions many of us saw as kids in our hometown movie theaters, when they still had live acts on Saturdays afternoons. Some people called the show amateurish. You'll probably see reviews that echo that phrase. However, call it sentimentality or whatever you like, I know I was impressed enough with what I thought I saw, to join other people all around me in clapping throughout the show. ______________________________________________________________________________ SPECIAL EVENTS ______________________________________________________________________________ None scheduled at this time. ______________________________________________________________________________ PRODUCTION REVIEW SHOWS ______________________________________________________________________________ None scheduled at this time.
