Thomas Francis Moreley (a.k.a. Cozy) was born in South Philadelphia to Nellie and Tom Morley. The oldest of three boys, he always had a love of music. His mother bought him his first banjo at age ten. When he attended South east catholic High School, he was the school's solo clarinettist. He went on to play in all the little clubs in the Philadelphia area, which inspired him to become a professional entertainer. In 1949 Cozy was discovered by Mickey Shaunessy, a well-known actor and entertainer. Mickey brought Cozy to Club Avalon in North Wildwood, where he entertained until 1958, at which time he bought the club. His ability to procure famous acts such as Joey Bishop, Johnny Ray, The Four Aces and Julius La Rosa, brought him and the Club national recognition. Cozy started "The Show of Shows" in the Wildwood in 1958 as a benefit for charity. Tireless in his devotion to charity, Cozy coordinated and appeared in every show, with all the guest entertainers donating their time. Over the years he has raised thousands of dollars for charitable causes. Many organizations have honored Cozy for his accomplishments as an entertainer and his dedication to charity. Recently, he was the recipient of a gold medal from the Philadelphia Lithographic Association (whose winners count Ed Rendell, Kate Smith, Perry Como, Jimmy Durante and Frank Palumbo among them.) Cozy has also been feted by Deborah Hospital, the Variety Club and the Knights of Columbus. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |TRUMP'S CASTLE CASINO RESORT | | Huron & Brigantine Blvd .609-441-2000 | | Box Office ............609-441-8300 | | Hotel .................609-441-8500 | | Restaurants ...........609-441-8300 | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
