The TacoNet is Founded in Amsterdam, Holland, Europe, first as a Spitfire BBS Support network, but after a few months we noticed that SysOp's from other BBS Systems where also interested in our net. In the past we started out as a QWK network, but after we changed to Fido-Style the amount of BBS's wich joined our network was great, and even today they are still joining the network, we have connections all over the world, but Europe is the biggest part of the nodelist at the moment. We're always looking for new Node's, and hope that you will join our network after reading this file, here are some reasons why you should decide to join: � New Node's in country's wich are not yet connected to the TacoNet, will receive the HOST status and can create HUB's and Node's as much as they want, the HOST of a region is completly free to add node's and provide nodenumbers. � The same goes for SysOp's in Holland, in case you connect to the network, and you're the first System in the provence where you live in, you also become a Region Host for you provence, and can also add as many HUB's nad Node's as you like, you're also free to do with your regio segment what you like. � TacoNet import the latest Spitfire Support file's from the US of A, they will be placed in the TacoNet Filesnet (see: Tacofile.net). � TacoNet Gates the SPITFIRE and FREEMAIL Fido conference's into it's own net, and is also responsible for collecting and forwarding them into Fido Europe. � Every SysOp connected to the network is invited to hatch files into the net, there are allready some systems wich do so automaticlly with files wich are uploaded to their own system, in this way, uploaded file's will be spread for your BBS Users the easy way. � We have almost no rule's except for the few named in TACONET.RLS, we have the simple opinion that everyone can decide for himself ho far he or she can go in the messagebase's. � TacoNet is one of the few networks wich carry's conference's in French, German English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, easy when you want to train your writing, or when you are a native speaker wich live's in an other country. � As far as we know, TacoNet is the only network wich gate's Packet radio mail on a regular basis, we wrote software wich make's it able to exchange mail with Packet Radio Stations in Holland, in this way foreign Amateurs are able of exchanging mail with Holland ! � The TacoNet Boss is a 28800 Bps system and several other Hub's do have a a VFC modem, so that file- and messagetransfers are FAST. � Playing the BRE international Inter-BBS Game against users at BBS's at other country's! � Inter BBS Scanning Radio Database, complete with offline handler, and a self written door, updates send through the net! � TacoNet Scanner Radio Frequency list server ! With this option,you and your users are able of requesting a scannerlist for the city where they live in, just by the use of the network ! all automated !
