MICROKEY COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS, INC.

News Release February 10, 1995

Switchboard 7 (SWB7) Product Line Launch Planned

Microkey Communication Systems, Inc. (trading symbol MKS.V VSE) (the "Company") announces the launch of the Switchboard 7 (SWB7) product line first quarter, 1995 .

The SWB7 product line consists of a family of Integrated Systems Digital Network (ISDN) hardware adapters, software drivers and portable call management software that allows computers from diverse manufacturers to communicate. The Company has taken delivery of the PC2B terminal adapter card manufactured to its specifications. Microkey's card, combining two bearer or B channels (hence the name PC2B) with Stac compression provides greater bandwidth for faster data transmission. Software drivers for the card are currently being written and tested at Microkey. These drivers allow the adapters to run on Microsoft Windows and Windows NT systems and the newest version of Windows, Chicago. A driver for IBM's emerging OS/2 platform is also being developed.

The ISDN PC2B card will run with a suite of software add-ons to be released during 1995. The initial software add-on will be for use with Microsoft's popular RAS (Remote Access Service). Using this service, a remote computer may connect to a host computer via ISDN telephone service. Through ISDN and the PC2B transmissions will run five times faster than conventional analog modems and twelve times faster than faxes. The follow up version of the Company's software will perform the same tasks at twice the speed.

ISDN enables the user to communicate over a telephone in digital as opposed to the normal analogue format. ISDN is an inexpensive high performance communication system offering high speed voice, data and image transmission and providing a low cost solution to bridging local area networks (LAN).

The Company will participate in the Computer Telephony Trade Show in Dallas, March 7,8,9 - the fastest growing show in the industry. Attendees include industry giants - Microsoft, Apple and AT&T. Microkey's initial pricing of the SWB7 line (including software) provides a product that is twice as fast as competitive products at a price that makes the PC2B especially attractive to developers and network managers who wish to minimize their costs per workstation.
