Next Epoch matriX User System 1.00 Beta Test Program Rules


To become a beta tester you must abide by the following rules.  To be
considered for application, you must agree to abide by them.  If at any
point you break ANY of the rules, your status as a beta tester will be
terminated, and you will be required to delete all copies of Nexus
from your system.


-   A Beta Tester may NOT at any time, allow the executable files, data
    files, or any other files associated with Nexus, to be distributed
    to anyone other than said Tester, unless those files have been publicly
    released by Intuitive Vision Software.

-   A Beta Tester may NOT at any time, for any reason, modify any of the
    executable files of the Nexus package, to include, but not limited to:

    NEXUS.EXE, NEXUS.OVR, NXSETUP.EXE, NXSETUP.OVR, NXFBMGR.EXE, IVOMS.EXE,
    OMSSETUP.EXE, EXMAILLT.EXE

-   A Beta Tester may NOT at any time, for any reason, disclose any
    information regarding Nexus that has not been made publicly available
    by Intuitive Vision Software to ANYONE!  Information that is considered
    to be made publicly available is that which is contained in any of the
    informational files released.  Any part of the testing process and its
    results are NOT considered publicly available information.  The only
    place where such information shall be released into a public forum will
    be the IVnet Nexus Support Conference.

-   A Beta Tester must join IVnet, The Intuitive Vision Network.  This
    network will carry echos specific to Nexus and Intuitive Vision Software
    as well as fileechos for distribution of Nexus related items (not the
    beta files, however).  The Nexus related echos and file distributions
    will be REQUIRED on Beta Systems (as well as other IVnet required echos
    and fileechos).  See accompanying IVnet Information Pack (IVN0995A.RAR)
    for application procedures.  An IVnet application must accompany your
    beta application (if not already a member of IVnet) or else your
    application will not be processed.

-   A Beta Tester must poll their IVnet feed at least once per day.  A Beta
    Tester will be required to FREQ updates from PCsource BBS (IVnet Zone
    Control 411:411/0) when they are announced in the beta echo.  Unless
    authorization is given in certain situations, Beta Testers may not
    receive updates from other Beta Testers.  If Intuitive Vision Software
    finds that the Beta Test sites are severely spread out, they may choose
    to set up a distribution chain, with one site designated as a
    distribution site for Beta Updates.

    If you are an AC for IVnet, you will not be required to poll IVnet ZC,
    however, we suggest that you do so a few times a week, as the ZC will
    only be sending mail approximately once per week.  In order to keep
    communications flowing, you may want to poll a few times a week.

-   A Beta Tester must be running a BBS that is publicly accessible.  A Beta
    Tester may run Nexus in a MultiBBS type configuration.  Nexus MUST be
    made available to the public and open for all new users.

-   A Beta Tester must submit a weekly report of bugs, comments, ideas, etc.
    to Intuitive Vision Software.  This may be done either via netmail to
    411:411/2 or in the IVnet Nexus Beta Echo.

-   A Beta Tester must be active in posting messages in the IVnet Nexus
    Support Echo.  This is the main forum for discussion of bugs, new
    features, help, etc. and MUST be an active participation from all Beta
    Sites.

-   A Beta Tester will be required to have their copy installed, online,
    and available to the public within two (2) weeks of receiving their
    beta copy.

-   If at any point, for any reason, the Beta Relationship between a Beta
    Tester and Intuitive Vision Software is severed, the Beta Tester must
    remove all traces of the Beta copy of Nexus on their system, and must
    NOT distribute beta copies to anyone.  This includes all backed up
    or archived versions, and your key file.

-   These rules are subject to change at the discretion of Intuitive Vision
    Software so as to maintain a healthy Beta Testing environment.
