Installation ************************************************************* To run the Visual Basic Picture Book programs, Japanese version of Visual Basic Runtime(VBRJP200.DLL) and MCI.VBX are required. Please download a copy from the library and copy it to the WINDOWS and WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory respectively. After expanding the OCTK01.LZH file, copy the picture file (files with extension BMP) and sound files (files with extension WAV) into the same directory as OCTK01.EXE. Finally, to hear music included with the program, you will a computer with a internal speaker and a Windows sound device driver installed in your system. 5. How to read the book ***************************************************** Run OCTKE.EXE program from the File Manager or from the Program Manager (choose [FILE]-[RUN]). Title page should be displayed. To advance to the next page, click anywhere in the picture window. Clicking different area in certain page will branch the story to a different set of scenes. Depending on how the story progress, you will reach one of the three endings. 6. Miscellaneous ********************************************************* By drawing too many pages to this chapter, the data file became larger than what I expected. Nevertheless, the story doesn't seem to progress too far. From this, I learned that the data size is one of the important consideration that I have to consider when distributing programs. 7. Distribution ********************************************************** The Visual Basic Picture Book is a freeware and can be freely distributed, but only in its original OCTK01.LZH file. Do not change the content or properties of the OCTK01.LZH file or the files contained. Registration is not required to use this files.
