PLAYV 951008 - PLAY.CMD PATCH - DOCUMENTATION --------------------------------------------- Lars Olofsson, G”teborg, Sweden 951008 Email: URL: http://www.cs.chalmers.se/~larso Why do many OS/2 developers using MMPM's capabilities for sound forget the volume settings? Several programs use sounds that are so loud that the speakers almost burst. One example of this is the PLAY.CMD file supplied with MMPM, useful for playing sound from your REXX files. PLAYV.CMD is a patched PLAY.CMD with an added [VOLUME=volume percentage] setting, which can be used to reduce the volume, otherwise playing at 100%. Otherwise, the usage is exactly the same as PLAY.CMD. Most of the code in PLAYV.CMD is the Copyright (c) IBM Corporation. All changes and additions are commented in the file. Both MIDI and Waveaudio playback have been tested on a SB AWE32 Value Edition. CD and other media playback should work too, although this has not been tested. BY USING PLAYV.CMD YOU ACCEPT THIS.
