ORACLE DESIGNATES OS/2 WARP AS A PRIMARY PORTING PLATFORM IBM and Oracle have signed a three year agreement. Oracle will be porting it's Workgroup/2000 product family to OS/2 Warp. Furthermore, IBM and Oracle will participate in joint marketing and technical projects. Both IBM and Oracle executives are excited about the agreement. "IBM continues to make it easy for customers to find and use the tools they need to leverage their systems and technology," said John W. Thompson, general manager, IBM's Marketing and Solution Developer Programs. "Oracle's investment in OS/2 as a primary porting platform on both the Intel and PowerPC platforms illustrates the momentum and support IBM is generating from the leading software developers. OS/2 Warp allows customers to quickly integrate technologies and applications from a broad range of suppliers." IBM PLANS ANTI-VIRUS SUITE TO RUN ON OS/2 WARP IBM is planning to offer an anti-virus suite for desktop computers. The OS/2 suite will be useful for home, small business and enterprise users.
