Zip-Hard Requirements

          IBM PC or compatible with 80386 processor or higher 
          Microsoft Windows 3.10 & up and Vbrun300.dll
	  VGA, Ms-Dos 5.0 & up is recommeded.

Memory:
          standard mode: approx. 2 MB
          enhanced mode: approx. 4 MB
          Approx. 1.2 MB of free disk space

TO INSTALL

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING VBRUN300.DLL

This program requires the VBRUN300.DLL file. If you 
do not already have this file in your Windows\System 
directory, obtain a free copy of the file from most 
online service or BBS.


The file(s) #ZH*.EXE are self-extracting files.     
Files will be extracted (placed) into the directory where
the exe is located when run.

     Place file(s) #ZH*.exe in desired directory.

     In examples below replace c:\dummy with
     name of directory where file(s) are located.
     [Enter] = press enter key

     From Windows Program Manager choose the RUN command.

     Type the path and name of each file and press enter.
          Example:  C:\dummy\#zh1.exe   [Enter]
                    C:\dummy\#zh2.exe   [Enter]
                    C:\dummy\zh-setup.exe  [Enter]

	Follow the on screen prompts to set up Zip-Hard in Windows
	Program Manager.

If you received the files in another archive form:

	Unarchive the files into a separate directory. 
	
	From Windows Program Manager choose the RUN command.

	Type C:\dummy\zh-setup.exe  [Enter]

	Follow the on screen prompts to set up Zip-Hard in Windows
	Program Manager.

Problems installing Zip-Hard:

NOTE: ANSI.SYS

     The first time Zip-Hard runs it must set itself up to run on
your computer.  On some models of PC's, when Zip-Hard first runs
without ansi.sys installed in the config.sys file an error can occurs.
     To correct or prevent this problem, edit your config.sys file
and add the line:     DEVICE=C:\DOS\ANSI.SYS   Save the file and 
reboot your computer.  The example assumes ansi.sys file is located on
drive C: and in the DOS directory.

NOTE: About Memory

   Zip-Hard should not have memory problems with Windows running
in enhanced mode.  Windows running in standard mode must have
approximately 768 free bytes of extended memory for Zip-Hard to
run.  To check your memory start Program Manger; under HELP click
About Program Manger; you will see (Free extended memory). See
your Windows documentation for ways to increase memory.

Evaluation Version
------------------

     This is an evaluation version of Zip-Hard software. The Span
Disk switch is not available.  This version will not allow you
to zip a file that will require more than one disk, while using
Zip-Hard.
     The registered version enables the Span Disk switch.  This
allows you to use multible disks to back up your entire hard drive
or easily update directories you have previously backed up.
