ARLX065 Joint event postponed

A joint Amateur Radio operation by both Jordanian and Israeli
amateurs planned to begin October 25 has been postponed, according
to the president of the Israel Amateur Radio Club.

The planned operation still lacks issuance of a call sign and proper
permits from the Israel Ministry of Communications, said IARC
President Joseph Obstfeld, 4X6KJ.  In addition, the consent of the
Israel and Jordanian Amateur Radio societies is not yet in place.

''This event is just postponed,'' Obstfeld said, ''until it can be
properly organized.''

Recent publicity was premature.
