                                 SHAREWARE

Spades is distributed as shareware. Shareware is not a type of
software, rather it is a method of marketing. Shareware allows you to
evaluate a software package BEFORE you decide whether or not you want to
buy it. In the case of Spades you are entitled to a 30-day evaluation
period. It is illegal to continue using the software without registering it. 
Registration also provides you with the full version of Spades with the 
"Partners" option enabled.  In addition, you will be entitled to future 
upgrades at a reduced price and will be added to our mailing list (if you
so desire).

DART CONSULTING DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES RELATING TO THIS SOFTWARE, WHETHER
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES
OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALL SUCH
WARRANTIES ARE EXPRESSLY AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMED.

NEITHER DART CONSULTING, NOR ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN THE 
CREATION, PRODUCTION, OR DELIVERY OF THIS SOFTWARE SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY
INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR
INABILITY TO USE SUCH SOFTWARE. IN NO EVENT SHALL DART CONSULTING'S 
LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES EVER EXCEED THE PRICE PAID FOR THE LICENSE TO 
USE THE SOFTWARE, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF THE CLAIM. THE PERSON USING THE
SOFTWARE BEARS ALL RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE
SOFTWARE.

     Some states do not allow the exclusion of the limit of liability
for consequential or incidental damages, so the above limitation may not
apply to you.

     This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of 
Massachusetts and shall inure to the benefit of Dart Consulting and any 
successors, administrators, heirs and assigns. Any action or proceeding
brought by either party against the other arising out of or related to this
agreement shall be brought only in a STATE or FEDERAL COURT of competent
jurisdiction located in Middlesex County, Ma. The parties hereby consent to
in personam jurisdiction of said courts.



                   COPYRIGHT NOTICE & LICENSE AGREEMENT

     The registered version of Spades and the disk on which it is
contained is licensed for one user. This is copyrighted software. You
are not obtaining title to the software or any copyright rights through
its purchase. You may not sublicense, rent, lease, convey, modify,
translate, convert to another programming language, decompile, or
disassemble the software for any purpose. 

     You are granted a limited license to use the unregistered version
for a limited evaluation period of up to 30 days, in order to determine
if it suits your needs. If you desire to use the program past this date,
you must register.

                               REGISTRATION

Registration gives you unlimited license to use Spades for your
personal use. When you register you will receive the following benefits:

     o A copy of the current, registered version of Spades with "Partners"

     o Timely notice of new products and updates

     o Discounts on future Dart Consulting products and Spades updates

If you wish to register, fill in the order form (ORDER.TXT) and mail it
with your check or money order for $12.00 to the address listed above.

     Spades requires Windows 3.1 or above.
