Contents of AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS will be shown, and an option to save to file or send to printer will be given. It is recommended that this check is done first, prior to doing the 'Quick Setup'. 2) Quick Setup Quick Setup will automatically initialize your card for the best possible configuration. You do, however, have the choice of selecting the monitor type, from the list of available monitors. If the monitor you are currently using is not in the monitor list, you may want to use the Custom Monitor option for best possible screen size and position for each resolution your monitor supports. 3) Adapter Utilities Installation. This option allows you to install the Video Adapter Utilities onto the hard drive. The ATI utilities includes a DOS DPMS Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) and a VESA TSR program for VESA compliant applications. For more information on either of these TSR please consult the appropriate README file. Upon completion, you will be asked if you wish to set the path to the directory containing the utilities. 4) Diagnostics You can test the functionality of your graphics adapter using this option. The following diagnostics are performed to thoroughly test the VGA and/or the Accelerator portion of your graphics adapter. * VGA Memory test * VGA Text test * VGA Standard graphics test * Accelerator Diagnostics 5) Advanced Setup This is designed for experienced users who wish to custom-tailor their card configuration for best possible performance. Changes will be saved in a non-volatile memory or a file, depending on the mach64 configuration, and the card will be re-initialized.
