Kites Made Easy (rel 1.0a) AUTHORS NOTES: Thank You for trying Kites Made Easy. Kites Made Easy was written with one goal in mind: To help show people how fun and enjoyable the sport of kite flying can be. Going to the store and buying a ready-made plastic kite can never give you the complete satisfaction of building your own and watching your creation take off into the heavens. I have been flying kites for over 20 years and I still get a thrill out of watching it happen. This program is a beginners guide. It teaches how to build some of the most popular types of kites with easily found items. Each of the kites in the program have been built by me and flown. Some of these kites can be built in hardly an hours time. After you build your first one, it becomes addicting. The registered version has much to offer. While this shareware version teaches some basics of kite flying, it in no way explains the entire world of kites. Well, the registered version doesn't either. It will show you a little of what there is in the professional world of kites, but there is too much to put explain (maybe another program). What the registered version has is more kites-some a little complicated, some professional building techniques, professional flying techniques, and building materials used by some of the best kite builders in the world! It can definately get you started. TECHNICAL NOTES: Kites Made Easy requires a VGA adapter with 640 X 480 resolution. Anything under this will not work. 640 X 480 is normal VGA mode and this seems to be standard with computer owners these days. For those of you with EGA cards etc., why not upgrade. A good and cheap VGA video card can be had for $50 or less. All of the menu items have underlined letters. You can use these undelined letters instead of the mouse for menu choices. If you plan to run Kites Made Easy in Windows, use the included PIF file, KITES.PIF. This should run well on most systems. There could be some spelling mistakes in this shareware release and if there are I apologize. They will most certainly be fixed in the registered version. If this program seems to load images a little slowly on your system, well, it does that. I have a 486 DX/2 66 with 16 MB ram and it runs fine, a couple beta-testers complained about slow draw times. Hopefully I will find a way around this sometime in the future, although I have never personally seen it happen. Kites Made Easy is shareware. Basically shareware means try it, if you like it, but the registered version. My cost for this program is $6.99. I had spent over 8 months on this program and consider $6.99 a trivial amount to spend on something that can bring you so much happiness. If you wish to buy the registered version, then I thank you. You can print the order form from within the program (why register screen), or print it yourself from the DOS prompt. Personal checks must clear before the order is sent, so if you want it quickly, take the extra time and get a money order. You can send cash, but I make no guarantees on cash orders. It could never reach me and you would have no way to stop payment. Shipping and handling, which consists of postage plus the cost of a disk envelope, is $1.50. Publication created using NeoBook (TM).
