File: Config Help 01 The only field on this screen that is used currently, is the: Hash Order field. Ignore all other fields, they are not read by the program, or dont need your input, they are for future control information. The Hash Order field, offers 3 options to speed hashing. F for First will tend to fill in the gaps in your indexing, starting at 1. but the disadvantage of F is that it can take too long if you have lots of KSA_Longs. N merely gets a count of the number of records in the P6 file, & starts hashing there. It will speed hashing, but if you have previously numbered index's > Number of Records, you can still end up waiting a while. L starts hashing at the highest index value & thus has nothing but free values to hash into. It is the fastest. It is best for large co's or agencies that have hundreds of KSAs & have a wait time that is unbearable under "F" or "N".
