wInformation is a Shareware Program written using BORLAND DELPHI 1.0 (8/24/95 release) demonstrating how to access and display windows 3.1 operating system and computer hardware information using Windows API calls along with DELPHI system functions.

This program was written to provide a portable, royalty free way to verify a client's PC configuration. It was written in a few hours with polishing accomplished during three separate evenings. It is by no means complete. Future upgrades will include network and system DLL version snooping.

Information displayed includes:
- DOS and Windows Version numbers
- CPU and Coprocessor type and status
- Windows mode
- Disk size and type
- Disk available with graphics
- System Memory available
- GDI and USER Heap available with graphic
- Compacting global memory


Version 1.52 :
- Added disk drive identifier to form caption.
- Added Tool Bar and CLOSE speed button to README form.
- Added Menu to main form 
- All application features can now be accessed from the Keyboard as well as the mouse.

Version 1.52s
- Added comments to source code.
- Added prefixes to application function names to differentiate them from other functions or variables.

Version 1.60
- Modified and tested for use in all VGA Modes. The application was originally developed in 1024x768/64K Colors.
- The Readme form is now full screen.
- Font type, size and weight were changed to meet Win95 ((c) Microsoft) interface guide standards.

Thanks for making wInformation a fun and successful experience. The first week version 1.52 was available on three CompuServe forums, it was downloaded over 300 times! While that may not seem like a lot to some people, this is my first released application and it excited the fire out of me. Thank you all again for your comments, questions, criticisms and suggestions. Keep em coming.

Starting with version 1.60, this application wInformation (c) is Shareware. The version can be verified in the About box. wInformation (c) can be used free of charge for 30 days. Afterward, the perpetual usage fee is $10 U.S. To also receive the DELPHI ( (c) Borland) source code, the usage fee is $15 U.S. and includes the rights to use it in published works as long as 'Carm Vecchio' and 'wInformation' are acknowledged as a contributor.
