This bug is corrected in the v1.24 release of the product. HOWEVER -- if you have been using aNY version of the program prior to v1.24, you will need to perform the following steps in order to correct the bug. An unfortunate side effect of this process is that it will *not* correct any data in regard to any existing collection lists. Since we cannot guarantee that your existing collection data is accurate, we must recommend that you wipe out your existing collection lists and start from scratch. (Please don't confuse the 'collection' lists with your 'customer' lists -- your existing *customer* data is still fine, so you don't need to re-enter all of your customer data. Only the 'monetary' portion of the program was effected by this bug) Here are the steps required to completely correct the bug.... STEP 1 -- As with any upgrade or update, we strongly recommend that you make a backup copy of all existing files from the previous version. You can either copy all the files to a temporary subdirectory on your hard drive, or copy them to floppy disks for safe keeping and future use if necessary. STEP 2 -- Install the Professional Carrier v1.24 program as normal, allowing the installation utility to use the same subdirectory that currently contains your existing copy of the program. The installation utility will launch the program and reconfigure itself automatically, importing any existing data files. STEP 3 -- After the installation and reconfiguration is complete, exit the Professional Carrier program. If you are running under Windows, you should then exit to a DOS prompt, and (if necessary) change to the \PROCARR subdirectory (or the subdirectory containing your Professional Carrier program and data files, if you used an alternate subdirectory name). STEP 4 -- Launch the FIXIT utility (included with the v1.24 update), simply by typing FIXIT and pressing the ENTER key. The utility will do its work *very* quickly, so don't be alarmed if it returns you to the DOS prompt right away. STEP 5 -- Once the FIXIT utility is finished, and while you are still at the DOS prompt, launch the Professional Carrier program by typing PROCARR and then pressing the ENTER key. STEP 6 -- Select the 'Money Management' item from the main menu, and then select the 'Collections' option. Then select the 'Begin New Collection Period' option to create a new collection list. Select the 'Route' (if you have multiple routes, you'll need to perform this process for each route). When you are asked for the dates, you must enter a date *PRIOR* to the dates you used previously. This will force the program to purge your existing History files, and allow you to recreate your collection lists from scratch. STEP 7 -- Once you've created your new, fresh collection lists, you can begin entering your collection data to bring your customers back up to date. Once you've got your collection data up-to-date again, the program will function normally from that point on.
