This distribution contains the following files: WFTPD.EXE - the executable program itself. WFTPD.HLP - the help file that goes with this program. README.TXT - that should be this file. WFTPD211.TXT - A file describing the features of WFTPD. FILE_ID.DIZ - Included at the suggestion of Hugo Voerman. [ CTL3DV2.DLL - Microsoft's 3D control library - only needed for Win3.1x] IMPORTANT!!! CTL3DV2.DLL must only go in your \WINDOWS or \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories - anywhere else will result in a defective installation. That means you should move it to that directory, and delete it from your main WFTPD directory. If you have a more recent version in one of these directories, you may simply delete this one. CTL3DV2.DLL is ONLY required for Windows 3.1x - Windows 95 and NT do NOT need this file - you may delete it. The WFTPD.HLP file is where all the documentation resides. To run it without running WFTPD, use the standard Windows Help, and use File|Open to open this help file. On most installations, you may simply use File|Run from Program Manager, and enter the path of the help file. Please read the help file before running, and for the answers to most of the questions that have already been asked. Registration information and order forms are provided in the Help file - you may either print the form out using the File|Print Topic menu choice, or you may simply create your own form, as long as it includes all information requested on the official order form. PLEASE READ THE REGISTRATION INFORMATION CAREFULLY - THERE ARE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED, OR YOUR ORDER WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU UNFULFILLED. Please note that this is shareware, and is produced as a hobby of mine. There is no warranty, either express or implied, of the suitability of this product for any purpose whatever. Support is not guaranteed, nor are updates to this program. This unregistered version is intended only for evaluation purposes. As such, it has a few restrictions which are worth noting: 1. A maximum of 15 PASV mode transfers are allowed per run of WFTPD - the registered version accepts as many as you can feed it. 2. A maximum of 5 file transfers (directory listings don't count) per login - to get another 5 transfers, simply log out and back in again. Note that an MGET/MPUT may request several transfers at once. Again, the registered version has no such limit. 3. The greeting and farewell messages are hard coded in the evaluation version - they're not quite as rude as they once were, though. The registered version allows you to change and save both of these messages. If you have any problems with this program, please direct your comments to the author, Alun Jones, at "alun@texis.com", or at 1602 Harvest Moon Place, Cedar Park, TX 78613-1419, USA. Please grant me the opportunity of defending the program's design and functionality before decrying its use in any forum, public or private. The success of future shareware depends on your encouragement. Thank you for caring, Alun. ~~~~
