Thanks for trying MailFlag. A few things you probably should know: When you delete messages, they are not placed in the 'wastebasket' or 'deleted' folder. The are irretrievably deleted. MailFlag must have COMMDLG.DLL and MAPI.DLL available. MS Mail should have installed these libraries on your system. Other than that, "installation" is just a matter of running the program. For more on these and other issues, look through the on-line Help. The 'General Concepts' should prove useful. The help is also where you'll find registration information & prices. MailFlag is shareware. If you continue to use it after 30 days, you must register. Nonetheless, this is a "low nag" program. Jeff Lundblad 73537.1203@compuserve.com Version History: Ver 1.51 - 11 Dec 95 "Save Icon Posn" was not always working Command line now allows profile names with spaces, e.g. -u"MS Exchange Settings" popup removal on msg read (added in v1.5) has problems, feature removed warning msg about having moved MailFlag.EXE occurred in error Ver 1.5 - 11 Nov 95 MailFlag32 Win95/WinNT/Exchange compatible version created to an unfocused popup now sets focus to the default action button If there were more unread msgs at startup than max popup windows allowed, the popups got out of sync with new msgs If a msg is read in Mail while the popup is still visible, the popup is removed Ver 1.46 - 25 Jun 95 An Options/Setup dialog accidently lost in v1.45, replaced Ver 1.45 - 20 Jun 95 Added small popup dialog option (under Options/Popup Details) Added option for the popup to not take the focus (under Options/Configuration) Provided for easier internationalization of the code Ver 1.44 - 9 May 95 Fixed 'remind me later' Ver 1.43 - 26 Mar 95 Fixed saving of popup window status in INI file (e.g. could turn off Options/Popup Box, then couldn't get it back on) Added slightly better notification response over DOS apps. Still slower than over Windows though. Fixed 'unread' count in window/icon title when using MSMail activation Fixed 'run mail' from icon menu and 'activate mail' from popup so that they act the same If MSMail not in the PATH, MailFlag changes to its dir before execution to help MSMail find its spelling DLLs. Ver 1.42 - 11 Feb 95 Fixed repeating audio alerts when using MSMail postoffice polling (broke it in 1.4) Ver 1.41 - 6 Feb 95 Fixed GPF caused by more than 105 unread msgs in INBOX Fixed -u command line parameter passing (broke it in v1.4) Added recognition of "Security=1" in MSMAIL.INI Ver 1.4 - 28 Dec 94 Added 'Send Mail' option from the system (icon) menu Added capability for MSMail to do the new-mail polling and alert MailFlag on new mail. This reduces MailFlag CPU cycle requirements and LAN traffic when MSMail is running. (menu Options/Setup) MailFlag window/icon "flash" "off" when polling for new mail, and back "on" when the poll is finished Added capability for MailFlag to sign out of mail during "off hours" This allows network backups to back up your message file if it is stored on the server (menu Options/Login) Fixed it so that a does not activate the default button in the popup window (completion of the first change under ver 1.3, below) Fixed it so that if MAPI.DLL is not found, you get an error message, rather than just exiting with no warning. Ver 1.31 - 12 Mar 94 'Popup Location' added to option menu; sets location of alert windows and the maximum number visible at one time -u and -p parameters added to command line to allow specification of mail logon username and password Ver 1.3 - 6 Feb 94 Pop-up dialog must be dispatched via the mouse or or an key. If you're typing, say in your word processor, when the pop-up pops, you'll get beeps from MailFlag so you'll know something has happened The 'MSMail Spooler' icon is now hidden when MailFlag is run prior to or without running MSMail A menu choice has been added to the MailFlag icon to run Mail MSMail now comes to the top when activated from MailFlag and it was not already running MailFlag always alerts for new mail, regardless of the state of MSMail (MailFlag used only alert if MSMail was an icon or not running) When MSMail is activated from MailFlag, the message list in the folder is highlighted (used to lose the highlight) Ver 1.2 - 19 Sep 93 Renamed to MailFlag ('MailCall' was in use by someone else) Fixed the GPF on system color change Added a 'Confirm Exit' configuration option Added capability to delete all types of messages from the pop-up Ver 1.1 - 3 Aug 93 Added the 'chime only once per message' option. Fixed the login / splash dialog interaction problem. Ver 1.0 - 26 July 93 Initial release
