PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: XFile is a low-profile, multifuntional utility program for the Windows environment. Diverse features such as fast file deletions, alarms, and system monitoring make XFile a handy day-to-day desktop companion. Features of the XFile application include: * Drag and drop file/directory deletion. * Create directory or multiple directories. * Multi-drive file finder. * Program launcher. * Timed Program execution. * Optional display of time, date, resources, and memory. * Unlimited alarms with user-defined messages. * Elapsed Timer. * Configurable resource monitor and alarm. * Configurable memory monitor and alarm. * Optional resetting of system time and date. * Keyboard control. XFile is offered to the user as shareware. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: XFile requires Windows 3.1 or higher to operate; a mouse is highly recommended for the file operations of the program. 3. PROGRAM INSTALLATION: While XFile may be run from a floppy disk, it is highly advisable that the application program, XFILE.EXE, and the help file, XFILE.HLP, be copied to any convenient location on your hard drive. It also suggested that XFile be placed in your Windows "StartUp" group so it is always available on the desktop. XFile makes NO changes to any DOS or Windows configuration files. It does create a parameter file called XFILE.INI, which is placed in the default Windows directory (usually C:\WINDOWS). 4. "UNINSTALLING" XFILE: If you wish to delete XFile from your system, simply delete the following files from your system: XFILE.EXE, XFILE.HLP, and XFILE.INI (this file is placed in your default Windows directory, usually C:\WINDOWS). 5. ORDERING INFORMATION: As noted above, XFile is offered to the user as shareware. If you find the program to be of value and continue to use it, you are expected to pay the registration fee. XFile is also offered in an enhanced or professional edition, sporting more features and utilities. Ordering information can be found within the XFile help file (XFILE.HLP) or within the accompanying ORDER.TXT file. 6.
