OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR CRIME DATA FOR WINDOWS

	The package you have downloaded includes the main program and several libraries needed for proper operation.  The Setup program will create a subdirectory on your hard drive named Crimewin.  All the files needed will be put here as well as your data files created by the program.  To load the package:  from File manager [Win 3.x] or Explorer [Win 95]double click on Setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions. The new Program Group will be placed on your desktop or Start Menu.  To start the program click 
the CDFW icon.

	Crime Data for Windows (CDFW) is a simple to use database created for small to medium sized departments.  This version is supported by Windows 3.x and Windows 95.
This Shareware version is fully functional and is limited only to the number of entries available in certain files.  It has great flexibility and adapts to most departmental needs easily.  The learning curve is quick and most fields have 'tip' help called by simply holding the cursor in the field for 2 seconds.  Free technical support is provided via Compuserve.

	Required fields and files:  The program needs some information in order to calculate fees and perform look-ups.  The main menu screen will allow you to navigate the program and access these files.  Look over the menu screen and find the menu bar at the top of the screen.  Locate 'Internal Files' and click.  Select 'Control File' first and complete the needed information.  After completing the Control file entries and saving them, Exit the program and then re-start it for the information you just added to be distributed to the modules upon re-start.  Then select each of the choices and complete the fields in them.
Most of these are self explanatory.

	PRICING
