My sister appears to be sensitive to the paranormal. As is usually the case I was the one who spent a lot of time reading about these events and seem to have little if any of this ability. My mom never expressed any interest nor belief in this area. My sister and my mother are the characters in this occurance... My grandmother died in the mid 70's. She had been ill and her death, though it made us sad, (we loved her dearly) was not entirely unexpected. Fast forward to the mid 80's. My grandmother has now been dead for nearly 10 years, yet her home had remained untouched. (She lived in a home entirely maintained and paid for by another family member and he effectively owned everything in it.) Anyway, since we were getting older, my mom wanted my sister and me to have something to remember my grandmother by, and she was tired of waiting for these folks to clean out her home. So she and another relative went to the house and took several small pieces of jewelry; nothing of extraordinary value, except sentimentally. My mother's intention was to give each of us a piece of jewelry. When I went home for a visit, I asked my sister whether she would rather have the bracelet or the earrings. She said "Take both, I don't want either." I was shocked and confused!! "Why?" She then told me that over the summer, as she was painting the kitchen, she would see a shadow out of the corner of her eye. Her first impression was that it was the cat jumping up on the kitchen counter (something she did not ordinarily do). When she would turn to chase her, the cat wouldn't be there. Now she was alone most of the time, painting, in a bright, sunny room. At night she began to hear what she called deliberate knocks and thumps in the house. Now we both grew up in this house and were familiar with all the "normal" noises that it made. She never told anyone about what she was experiencing. She was frightened. One day my mother asked my sister to come into the bedroom, she wanted to talk to her. My sister went, rolling her eyes, wondering what she had done now. Mom said "You are going to think I'm crazy, but I've been seeing shadows all around the house. When I turn to face them, there is nothing there!" My sister said, that she felt all the blood drain from her face. My mother, alarmed, asked "What's the matter." When they compared notes it appeared that they were experiencing the exact same thing!! They were, to put it mildly, shaken. Since these things started to happen after my mom took the jewelry, we all felt that it was definitely connected. Even though my sister was uncomfortable keeping any, I took the bracelet and left the earrings. Once we each had something the disturbances stopped for my mother. (My sister has had other "interesting" experiences.) We can only surmise that my grandmother wanted to make certain that she approved of the way her jewelry was dealt with. I have never experienced any unusual occurance that I can connect to the bracelet. I think she approved. CDR
