Hi there. I have the same thing in my basement. I've posted my story
before, but heres a condensed version. A friend from Ottawa (and a very
trustworthy friend) and his family were staying at my house while in
Toronto, and he got up early one morning and heard a noise downstairs in
my kitchen. He went down to investigate, and when he got to the
ktichen, the noise had (I think footsteps) were by the basement steps.
He followed the noise to the basement and found nothing ammiss, so being
up already, he started to play with some of my siblings lego (and here
you thought this was the condensed version. ). A few minutes
later he could detect a presence with him and he looked up to see a
large, 3-dimensional shadow about the size of a tall man walking to ward
him. He got really freaked out and tore upstairs waking everyone up,
but he did stay down long enough to see the "shadow" walk through the
wall in the corner of the basement. Since then my sister and my mother
have seen the "ghost" as well. My mother prayed about it and
"exorcised"(sp?) it and it hasn't been seen since then, but we still
herer it occasionally. We have also heard voices coming from my parents
window when it is open (well, once anyway) and no one was in the house,
and no radio, TV, etc. was on. Anyway, my parents feeling about all
this is that it was a demon, and I tend to agree with them, although who
knows what's out there. Just my story. Feel free to e-mail me if you
