Welcome Welcome to Duplex Term Translator, a desktop tool for making and using on-line translation glossaries for Win31, Win95 and NT. Duplex makes your own plain-text files perform as sophisticated cross-reference tools. It can hold up to 2000 plain-text translation glossaries ready for instant consultation. Select ANY glossary. Choose your source. Enter ANY search pattern, from a single character to a complete paragraph. Unleash Duplex's fast lookup capability and retrieve up to 60 source terms from the thousands that your glossary can contain. Select ANY of these matching terms and INSTANTLY consult each term's translation. Click a button (or strike a key), and the translation is copied to the clipboard ready to be pasted into ANY active document in ANY application, word processor, spreadsheet, database system or what-have-you. Whatever your task, Duplex is always on call from a discreet icon which you can drag-and-drop anywhere on your screen. Terms can be added or deleted on the fly, and you can even create new glossaries as you go. On-line help is available throughout. Duplex is a great tool for linguists, writers, librarians, jurists, accountants, in fact anyone needing to hold, translate and transfer pieces of information tagged in two codes. 2. Installing Duplex from diskette a. In Win31 or NT3, choose File | Run from the Program Manager menu. In Win95 or NT3, choose Start | Run from the taskbar. b. Type "a:setup" and press RETURN or ENTER. c. Follow the instructions on the screen. 3. Installing Duplex from hard disk or CD-ROM a. In File Manager (Win31/NT3) or Explorer (Win95/NT4) change to the directory or sub-directory containing the Duplex files or duplex21.zip b. Unzip duplex21.zip if necessary. c. Double-click on "setup", or highlight "setup" and press RETURN or ENTER. d. Follow the instructions on the screen. e. After installation, the original file(s) may be deleted from your hard disk. 4. Uninstalling Duplex a. Delete the Duplex directory chosen during setup (default C:\DUPLEX). b. Delete the Duplex group. c. Delete \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\qpro200.dll and \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\threed.vbx if unused by other applications. 5. Distribution Information This product may NOT be sold, although a reasonable fee may be charged for supplying it from a software archive or repository. Is not installed. dpxinst.exe Bootstrapper executable. Is not installed dpxinst.inf Bootstrapper configuration file. Is not installed. duplexsu.exe Sets up Duplex directory. Auto-deletes after setup. duplex.exe Duplex executable. duplex.hlp On-line Guide to Duplex. dpxreg.exe Printable registration form for Duplex. dpxord.exe Printable order form for Duplex Pro. qpro200.dll Library file called by duplexsu.exe and duplex.exe. On some media, some of the above filenames may end in an underscore character; the corresponding files will be automatically uncompressed if necessary by the installation program. Duplex version 2.1 may be freely distributed, either zipped or unzipped, providing ALL of the above files are included. If zipped, the product MUST be distributed as duplex21.zip. After installation, the product may be used for 30 days free of charge. Thereafter, users must register as licensed users or remove the product from their systems.
