Exchange Profile Selector Version 1.4.1 By Jan G.P. Sijm Introduction I created this little utility, because it offers a feature that is not standard in Microsoft Windows Messaging (e.g. Microsoft Exchange) for Windows 95. I use a number of messaging profiles, because some of these profiles have conflicting options or because i do not want the fax service to access my modem. There is no easy way to switch profiles except having Microsoft Windows Messaging (e.g. Microsoft Exchange) prompt you for it with a special dialog. I simply wanted to create a shortcut on my desktop for each profile, but that is not possible with Microsoft Windows Messaging (e.g. Microsoft Exchange). The 'Exchange Profile Selector' utility will allow you to start a specific messaging profile directly. Simply specify the name of the profile on the command line (do not forget to enclose it in double quotes if the profile name has spaces in it) and this little utility will do the rest. This will make it possible to start any messaging profile from the command line of a DOS-box or by using a shortcut icon on your desktop or start menu. I created this utility for my personal use and i think it works pretty well. If you do find bugs or if you have any ideas on how i could improve this little utility, please let me know. Command Line Syntax EPS Profile [Options] The optional command line options will be passed directly to Microsoft Windows Messaging (e.g. Microsoft Exchange). For example : EPS "MS Exchange Settings" EPS "MS Exchange Settings" /n EPS "FAX Settings" /a History - May 12, 1996 - Initial release - May 21, 1996 - The Exchange Profile Selector would not work on slower machines due to the fact that EPS would exit before Microsoft Exchange was actually started. Fixed that bug... - May 27, 1996 - The Exchange Profile Selector can now be started with command line options that will be passed to Microsoft Exchange. - June 8, 1996 - A new version of Microsoft Exchange, now called Windows Messaging, has been released by Microsoft. This version adds support - July 4, 1996 - The Exchange Profile Selector now also works with the Windows NT version of Microsoft Exchange. This version was tested with Windows NT 4.0 Workstation Beta 2 (Build 1314) and Microsoft Exchange version 4.0.837.6 Jan Sijm 101451.1651@compuserve.com http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/jsijm
