INSTALLATION OF BRASS POLISH If you are upgrading from a previous version, delete the old BRASS.EXE, BRASS.HLP, and BRASS.INI from the directory where you had the old version installed. Copy the new BRASS.EXE and BRASS.HLP to any directory on the hard drive. See the Windows documentation for how to install a program item in Program Manager, or how to create a shortcut or Start/Programs menu item in Windows 95. In the Properties dialog for the shortcut or program item, set the "Start in" or "Working Directory" path to the directory (folder) where you keep the save files you will be editing most frequently. This will ensure that Brass Polish's Open Saved Game dialog defaults to that directory. The first time you load a saved game, you will be prompted to locate the game directory. This is so Brass Polish can find the equipment data and (except for Panzer General DOS version) the art file. Click the Help button for further information. For Allied General and the Windows 95 version of Panzer General, equipment icons are read at run-time from the art file distributed with the game. This art remains the copyrighted property of Strategic Simulations, Inc. For the shareware version of Brass Polish, unit equipment icons are shown only for the first unit in the list; the registered version shows icons for all units. Please see the on-line Help for further benefits of registration.
