Double-Deck Pinochle 3.0 UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS A. If you have the UPGRADE.ZIP upgrade files for 3.0: Unzip UPGRADE.ZIP to the directory that holds Pinochle 2.0/2.1. For example, if Pinochle 2.1 is in a directory called \PINOCHLE, then you may use: PKUNZIP UPGRADE.ZIP \PINOCHLE That's all! No install or other steps are needed. Note, of course, that you must have Pinochle 2.1 already installed for this to work. Note that Version 3.0 has a new icon, but Windows may continue to display the Version 2.1 icon even after 3.0 is installed. To get the new icon to appear in your Windows 3.1 program manager, you may select the former program icon, choose Properties | Change Icon, and press enter twice to load the new icon from the program file. (In Windows 95, you may use START | SETTINGS | TASKBAR | START MENU PROGRAMS | ADVANCED. Then open the folder with the PINOCHLE shortcut, and right-click on PINOCHLE.EXE. Choose PROPERTIES | SHORTCUT | CHANGE ICON and press Enter. Then close the windows or click on OK.) B. If you have the full PINOCHLE.ZIP file for Version 3.0: Unzip PINOCHLE.ZIP to a temporary directory of your choice (NOT the directory where Pinochle 2.0/2.1 is located), then run INSTALL.EXE as indicated in README.TXT. This is the same as just installing the program as if it were new. See README.TXT for complete information. Note: Do not delete the Version 2.0/2.1 directory, because the PINOCHLE.CFG file holds your setup information. If you wish to install 3.0 to a new location, you should (a) install 3.0 as if it were new, (b) copy PINOCHLE.CFG to that new directory, and then (c) delete the 2.0/2.1 directory. For more information, see README.TXT
