The problem is when user did not want to browse the tree on the destination page and directly typed the full path on the edit field, and then clicked on "Run" to submit a restore job, ARCserve Manager popped up an error message to show the destination was not selected. New ARCSERVE.exe will accept the edit field as destination path on the destination page or user still can use the tree browsing to select the destination path. 2. The problem when user went to "Query View" and then reselected to "Media View", the right panel contained "Object Information", "Version History", and "View Configuration". New ARCSERVE.EXE will display only "Object Information". 3. Old ARCSERVE.EXE had low speed in searching the specific file. New ARCSERVE.EXE changed the search logic. When user know the exactly name of file, user can select "Pattern" with "Exact Match" instead of "Begin With" , click on "Case Sensitive" checkbox, and type the file name (with case sensitive), it will search in 2 or 3 seconds depending on how many backup versions with the period of time. If user doesn’t know the exact file name, user can use "Begin With", "Contains", "WildCard", and "End With" to search. New ARCSERVE.EXE improved speed on "Exact Match" with non-casesensitive, "Begin With", "Contains", "WildCard", and "End With". 4. ARCserve.exe caused a GP in ASCORE.DLL when the job queue had large jobs in the queue. This happened when user selected Job Queue Option. This has been fixed. 5. When user selected a PC Client in Backup/Restore/Compare jobs, the nodename and loginname information packaged in the job was wrong. This was fixed. 6. When a user selects the notification dialog in say Backup Mgr, the Print Queue browser allows the user to select the Print Queue on a DS server by browsing the tree. This dialog showed junk chars. This has been fixed. 7. When DB has no tape entries and user enters Restore, Media View, this would cause a GPF ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 4/22/96 Product: ARCserve Version: 6.0 Module: ARCSERVE.EXE, ASDB.DLL ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Issue(s) Addressed: 1. ARCserve would create GPF when user try to browse a directory which has more than 1454 sub-directories (Tree View of Restore Manager). New ARCserve.exe will handle up to 8000 sub-directories in a directory. 2. ARCserve would miss some files when a directory has more than 1454 files only on Tree View of Restore Manager. New ARCserve.exe and ASDB.dll will solve this problem. 3. ASDB.dll had the problem when user login (only login to NDS Tree) and had no admin equivalence, user could not view all files that he(she) backed up. New ASDB.dll will solve this problem to let user have right to view the files which he(she) backed up. 4. New ASDB.dll will improve the speed in Tree Browsing on Tree View of Restore manager, the speed in "Version History" function on Tree View, and also the speed to submit the restore job. Notes and Warnings: (if necessary) Packing List: Installation Instructions: Replace new asdb.dll arcserve.exe asstatus.exe asres3.dll asdlgs4.dll as in ARCserve 6.0 manager directory.
