README.TXT HTMLview 1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Welcome to HTMLview 1.0 ! This document contains a quick description of HTMLview 1.0. For more information please start HTMLview and view the online documentation in the Help menu (you may also press F1). **** To register, please read the REGISTER.TXT file. **** 1. What is HTMLview 1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HTMLview is a webbrowser/HTMLviewer for OS/2. HTMLview is a faster way of viewing HTML and URL:s than WebExplorer. It does most of the things that WebExplorer does and works both on- and off-line. It has many features that WebExplorer has not. If you are used to work with WebExplorer you will soon be used to work with HTMLview. Most menu-item and keyboard shortcut are similar to those in WebExplorer. Most notes features: - Select a link when a page is loaded - Easy to use QuickList - Small (>100kb) and fast. We also offer custom made versions of HTMLview for customers that has a specific needs, for example feature limited, company specific versions. 2. Trial version limitations ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Before you register you will be using the trial version. You are allowed to run unregistered in 30 day. All use after that is illegal. * Support is only available for registered users * The trial version has the following restrictions: - The QuickList cannot exceed five items. - The program will exit after running in 15 minutes. - When starting and exiting HTMLview a information screen appears. You may however start HTMLview as many times as you like during the trial period of 30 days. NOTE: If a download is running it will be aborted if the 15 minute time limit has been exceeded. 3. Installation program ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The installation program is written for your convenience but is not required to install the product. You may copy the files to your harddisk manually if you wish. Only two files are required to run HTMLview. - Copy the files (HTMLview.EXE, HTMLview.HTM) to a directory of your choice. - Create desktop icons with program references for HTMLview.EXE. - DO NOT drag the icons representing the executables from the file system (Drives window). - You may create several program references with different URL:s as parameters. - Many copies of HTMLview may run at the same time. If the installation program fails, please ensure that: - The installation directory is not in a non existing multilevel path. - The installation drive is not write protected. - You are running Workplace Shell. - The package HTMLVR10 is not tampered with. 4.
