***************************************************************************** $Sheriff vers0.11b FOR OS/2 WARP (FREEWARE for the poor) (DONATIONWARE for the rich) Copyright (C) by Miltiadis Mitrakas 1996 email: mmitraka@cs.strath.ac.uk ***************************************************************************** NOTE: MULTIMEDIA SUPPORT SHOULD BE INSTALLED NO MATTER IF YOU HAVE A SOUND CARD OR NOT. ***************************************************************************** ______________________________________________________________________________ THE AUTHOR: ______________________________________________________________________________ Miltiadis Mitrakas 4th year Student [Computer Science at Strathclyde university in Glasgow] email: mmitraka@cs.strath.ac.uk ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ ABOUT: ______________________________________________________________________________ You are the $Sheriff and your task is to protect the BANK of the town. Kill the bad guys, spare the innocent people, (sounds simple but it is not). There are four levels in this version, the first two are easy the third is more interesting and the forth is hard (at least for me). You can choose the level of difficulty that you prefer by choosing "Hard/Normal/Too Easy" buttons at the intro screen. What you are actually choosing is the speed of the enemy. The scenario levels are the same whatever level of difficulty you choose. There are three doors in total and your enemies appear in a partially predefined and partially random order (see bottom of the file for details in the "SCENARIO DETAILS" section). Using the arrow keys you can shoot at each door: _LEFT- shoot at first door. _UP- shoot at second door. _RIGHT- shoot at the third door. The DOWN arrow is used to reload your pistol but it will not do it if you do not have enough money. In the first level (LEVEL 0) reloading costs $251 and at each level the costs increases $100. Finally you can QUIT while you play by pressing ESC key. ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ HINTS: ______________________________________________________________________________ Avoid playing the "HARD" level, is a 'killer' :-) ______________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ THE PROGRAM: ______________________________________________________________________________ SS2 is a 32Bit, multithreaded Presentation Manager program. This file is always created at the start of the program and if everything is OK at the end of the program will contain the following lines: Log File Name: SS2.LOG - The End - This does not mean that the program is 100% OK.
