Installation Notes --------------------- To save downloading time, DiskDupe Trial does not come with a Windows installation program. To install it, just copy all the unzipped files: README.TXT, FILE_ID.DIZ, DDW.EXE, DDW.HLP and DDW.TXT into an available directory or folder. If you already have a copy of the Dos version of DiskDupe, you can copy this Windows version into the same directory without overwriting the Dos version. Please note that image files made with the Dos version are 100 percent compatible with the Windows version, but since the Windows version may be a newer version and release than the Dos version the images made with the Windows version may not be backwards-compatible with the Dos version. 3. Creating an Icon and Running DiskDupe ---------------------------------------- To create an icon in Windows 3.1, click on a group you would like to add DiskDupe to and select File, New, Program Item from the Program Manager. Enter in a description for the icon, DiskDupe for example, and select the Browse button to locate the DDW.EXE file and select it. For the working directory, select the directory in which the DDW.EXE file is stored in. Once you are done entering in the Program Item Properties information, select ok. To run DiskDupe, double-click on the newly created icon. To create a short-cut icon in Windows 95', select the My Computer icon and locate the DDW.EXE file. Once you have the file located and high-lighted, select File and Create Shortcut to create a shortcut icon, and drag the shortcut icon onto the desktop. To run DiskDupe, double-click on shortcut icon. 4. How to Uninstall ------------------- To uninstall DiskDupe, delete all of the above mentioned files as well as some of the other files it creates in the installation directory.
