This problem occurs if Golf does not correctly identify the operating system. It also can be caused by the power-saving features on some notebook computers. The GM1170 disk included with this Application Note contains an updated GLFANI32.DLL file that corrects this problem. To install the updated GLFANI32.DLL file, do the following: 1. Quit Golf if it is running. 2. In your Golf program directory (usually C:\MSGOLF2), rename GLFANI32.DLL to GLFANI32.OLD. 3. Insert the enclosed GM1170 disk in the appropriate floppy disk drive. 4. At the MS-DOS command prompt, type the following and press ENTER copy :\glfani32.dll where is the floppy disk drive containing the GM1170 disk and is the drive and directory where your GLFANI32.DLL file currently resides. For example, if GLFANI32.DLL is located in the MSGOLF2 directory on drive C and the GM1170 disk is in drive A, type the following command: copy a:\glfani32.dll c:\msgolf2 5. Start Golf. Golf will profile your machine for maximum swing efficiency. Golf will reprofile each time you change the screen resolution or make any major system modifications. NOTE: Under Windows 3.1, Golf identifies a Pentium(R) as a 486 processor. This is normal and will not cause swing control problems. Swing control should now operate consistently.
