Thank you for trying the WinSpeech text-to-speech product from PC WholeWare.
This is a shareware version of the WinSpeech 3.0N.  You may use it as long as 
needed for the purpose of evaluation.  You are not allowed to use the software
in this package which include but not limited to the WinSpeech program, the 
Dictionary Editor program and the text-to-speech DLL for any purposes other 
than the evaluation or the demonstration of the WinSpeech program.

You are allowed to distribute unaltered copies of this shareware package.

The software supplied in this package is Copyright 1995-1997 by PC WHOLEWARE,
and is protected by the United States copyright laws and international treaty 
provisions.  The software is provided "AS IS" without warranty as to 
performance or fitness for any particular purpose.  The entire risk as to the 
results and performance of this software package is assumed by you.  Under no

------------------------------ SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ---------------------------

.IBM PC or compatible computer running Windows 95, Windows NT 3.x or 4.0.
.At least 3 MB of free hard disk space.
.A mouse or equivalent pointing device.
.Sound card is recommended for Windows 95, and is required for Windows NT.


(This program does not run on Windows 3.1x.  If you are running Windows 3.1x
 please get the WinSpeech 3.0.  WinSpeech 3.0 has the same functionality as 
 3.0N and is designed for the 16-bit Windows.)


---------------------------------- TO INSTALL --------------------------------

If you have previous versions of WinSpeech (registered or shareware) program
installed in your system,  You can proceed with the setup if you plan to 
install this WinSpeech 3.0N version to the same directory as before.  The 
setup program will overwrite your old files with new files and leave user-
created files untouched.  You should manually remove the following files:

For WinSpeech 1.0, 2.0 users:   Remove "wspeech.ini" from Windows directory.
For WinSpeech 3.0 users:        Remove "wspeech.ini" from Windows directory.
                                Remove "wsplib20.dll" and "wspkey.dll" from 
                                Windows system directory.


To proceed with the installation:

For Windows 95 or NT 4.0 users:  Select "Run" from the "Start" menu on the 
Task bar.  Type "a:setup" (or "b:setup") then press <Enter>.  Follow the 
online instuctions to finish the setup.

For Windows NT 3.x users:  Select "Run" from the "File" menu in the Program
Manager.   Type "a:setup" (or "b:setup") then press <Enter>.  Follow the 
online instuctions to finish the setup.



--------------------------------- TO UNINSTALL -------------------------------

WinSpeech 3.0N comes with an uninstall program that can clean up all the 
installed files and the Registry for you.  Please refer to Appendix D in the 
Help manual for uninstall instructions.

3.  Improved text-to-words conversion rules for abbreviations, ordinal 
    numbers, currencies, punctuation signs, ... etc.

5.  Read contents from the Clipboard directly.  The automatic Clipboard mode 
    allows speaking whenever the contents change.  The hot key enables speech 
    control from client Windows programs.  These features let the WinSpeech 
    3.0N be used as a speech add-on utility for other Windows applications.
6.  Separated dictionary editor with improved user's interface.
7.  Allows of loading different dictionaries and voice data sets.
8.  Allows of changing speaking speed and voice pitch. 
9.  A status window for showing program status and currently opened file.
10. Command line parameters are added for reading a file or a string 
    automatically when program starts, and for minimizing window and 
    suppressing of showing title.
11. Pop up instructions for graphical buttons.
