Each step comes with complete instructions on the window describing what to do. Give it a try! To create a macro click the button and a wizard will guide you through the steps. 1. The first thing the wizard will ask you for is to choose a hot key for your new macro. Make sure that the cursor is blinking in the field, then strike the key on the keyboard that you wish to attach run your new macro. We recommend that you choose key combinations like , or , etc. If you choose keys like or <0>, this could interfere with the way you use your other software. For example, if you are using a word processor and you type "Every good boy does fine" and you have a macro set up for the key, then your 'E' macro would run instead of the 'E' appearing in your word processor's window. 2. You will be asked by the wizard the type of macro you wish to create. You can choose to either launch a program with a hot key, or run a keyboard and mouse macro with a hot key. If you choose to launch a program the wizard will ask you to type the path of the program to run. You may click the button to locate a program file. If you type the name of the program, for example, 'NOTEPAD', EZ Macros will search your path, and your Windows directory for that program and fill in the path information for you. If it cannot find a match, the field will turn red and you will receive a message. Just try again or use the button. 3. If you elect to create a keyboard and mouse macro you will see the default settings for this new macro. By default you will be recording keystrokes and mouse movements and clicks. Keystrokes and mouse movements and clicks are also known as 'events'. If you only want one to record one type of event, click on the one you do not want. Only the events checked are the events that will be recorded. Now notice the 'Playback Speed' field. The 'Playback Speed' allows you to control how fast the macro is played back when you hit your hot key. If 'Fast' is selected, the macro is played back almost instantly. If 'Recorded Speed' is selected the macro will be played back at the speed in which it was recorded. 4. When all of your settings are set the way you like it, click the button. The EZ Macros window disappears, and a green light appears in the tray window (the clock window). When the green light is on you are recording a macro. Now is the time type and/or move your mouse for your macro. When you are finished recording your macro, hit the key on your keyboard. The EZ Macros window will reappear, and the light will turn to red. (The key will not be apart of the macro.) 5. After you click the button, you can enter a description for this macro. This will help you to remember what this macro does when you come back to it later. To edit a macro click on the macro in the list that you want to edit and click the button. The wizard will guide you. Refer to the instructions for creating a macro. To delete a macro click on the macro in the list that you want to delete and click the button. To disable or enable a macro click on the macro in the list that you want to enable or disable and click the or the button. The macros with the green light are the macros that are currently active. The macros with the red light are inactive. To activate the macros click the button. Notice that a green light in the tray (the clock window) appears. When you see the green light you know that the macros are active. And whenever you strike the hot key for your macro, the macro will run. When you double click on the green light, the EZ Macros appears and the green light turns to a red light. [3.
