Chgname 1.1 Functionality: This program renames all the files you add to the list on the lower half of the window. The files are renamed to the name entered under 'New name' and enumerated. It's very useful if you wish to have a lot of related files in one directory. 1) Type in the beginning of the new filenames. 2) If you wish to rename all the files with new extensions, then uncheck the 'Keep...' box. 3) Write in the number on which the count starts and how many characters the number should be. 4) Add files with the Open dialog box. 5) Move or Remove files by marking them and using the Remove button or the pointers on the right. (The files will be nubmered after their order in the list window.) 6) Choose target drive and directory in the top left corner. (All files are moved to this directory!) 7) Push the 'Rename...' button. Result: If you write in the name 'pic', enumerate form 34 and specify 5 digits and original extension your files might look like these: pic00034.jpg pic00035.gif pic00036.jpg etc... Installation: No other installation required than unpacking and making the appropriate shortcuts on the Start menu. Chgname 1.1 requires no extra files and does not access the Windows95 registry. Additions from version 1.0 - Select all button - Enumeration from 0 (instead of 1) - Glypth on the buttons (better layout) About Chgname 1.1 - Programmed by Kjetil L.
