mt.cpp - 9 to 11 February, 1997:
  Added "##" to the make the new extension permanent, default extension;
  Added return codes;
  Can accept a trailing (back)slash;

  Changed treatment of previous directories;

  Fixed a bug with find function dealing with star not finding a directory;
