TROPICANA CASINO & RESORT ------------------------- EMPLOYMENT INFORMATON ______________________________________________________________________________ TROPICANA DEALERS REJECT TEAMSTERS BY VOTE 301-289 Atlantic City, NJ --- Tropicana Casino and Resort won a significant victory on Saturday, May 11, when dealers and keno writers voted 301 to 289 to reject a union organizing attempt by Teamsters Local 331. The vote of confidence for Tropicana management comes just one week after the company completed a 604-room tower expansion project making the complex New Jersey's largest hotel. "We thank the employees for their support and for the wisdom and courage to make the right decision," said Dennis C. Gomes, President/Aztar Resort Operations. "This vote gives us the opportunity to work together to make Tropicana not only the best place to play, but the best place to work," Gomez added. More than 600 dealers and keno writers were eligible to vote in the election which was conducted by the National Labor Relations Board. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ EMPLOYEE AND SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR FOR 1995 SELECTED AT TROPICANA CASINO AND ENTERTAINMENT Atlantic City, NJ --- Door Attendant Bozidar "Bob" Pesic and Executive Administrative Assistant to the president Jean Price received top honors as the 1995 Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year, respectively, at Tropicana Casino and Entertainment. Pesic, a 14-year employee, exemplifies the utmost in superior customer service to each guest that arrives at Tropicana. Pesic resides in Barnegat, New Jersey. Price, a 15-year employee, displays exceptional customer service, attention to detail and dedication which makes her an essential member of the Tropicana team. Price resides in Marmora, New Jersey. Pesic and Price were each awarded a monetary prize, on-site parking for one year and a plaque. In addition, Slot Attendant Jean Chin and Front Desk Manager Diana "Dee" Korfin, were selected as Employee of the Year runner-up and Supervisor of the Year runner-up, respectively. An Atlantic City resident, Chin is a 12-year employee and Korfin, an Egg Harbor Township resident, is a six-year employee of Tropicana. A 14-year employee, Roulette Dealer Stephen Gudleski, of Absecon, was selected as Employee of the Year second runner-up. The runners-up were each awarded a monetary prize and a plaque.
