Copyright (c) 1997 NOT SO SUPER AFTER ALL Like a couple hundred million other Americans, I tuned in the Super Bowl last Sunday. I was far less interested in the over-hyped game, though, than I was in the over-hyped commercials. For all the money that was spent, you'd think they might have come up with something a bit more entertaining. And the game wasn't much, either. My favorite moment was probably in the opening of the game telecast. The camera panned across the sidelines as Pat Summerall did a ponderous voiceover. The camera found New England coach Bill Parcells, lingered on his serious, focused expression. "If faces could talk...," droned Summerall. Uh, Pat, faces *do* talk... But Del doesn't give me this space to review sports events. Ruby's Pearls for February is something of a cause for personal celebration. My brother Randall returns to our fold after a visit to the hospital; he's all better, and his description of his medical incarceration is quite entertaining. Regulars Paul Toth and Colin Dale contribute two entirely different sorts of stories, and as always, there's quite a lot of Ms. Ruby and her Ms.adventures. Sorry; couldn't resist... It's our sixty-fifth consecutive issue--enjoy yourselves. --Michael Hahn Assistant Editor
