RELEASE NOTES for v4.1
=======================

This is the first Shareware version of zMUD.  You can use this
program for a 30-day evaluation period, then you should register
the program for $20.  Even though zMUD is Shareware, it is not
"crippled" in any way.  You can register using the included
REGISTER.EXE program and following its instructions, or, if you
have a credit card, you can register via the Web.  The URL for
Web registration is shown in the opening Registration dialog when
you run zMUD.

NOTES for users of previous versions
====================================

I have tried to maintain compatibility with maps created with the
previous beta releases of zMUD.  However, I cannot guarentee that 
all old maps will work.  There were significant problems with zones
and portals in the past release that required a change to file formats.
When you first open a zone, it will take a bit longer than normal
in order to convert it.  From then on it should load more quickly.

Also, the <skip line> at the beginning of your parse table is no
longer needed since commands entered by the user are now ignored.
Your old Parse Table should be converted automatically the first time
it is read.

Note that this new version also supports new MUD listings provided
by the MUD Connector.  You can continue to use your old mudlist.txt
if you like.  The two new formats are stored in mudlist2.db and
mudlist.doc.  Click the Update Files button in the Connection Wizard
to download new versions of these files.

If though I have tried to maintain stability in this version, some
problems may remain.  Please send me any bug reports and if there are
any critical ones I'll release a bug-fix version shortly.  Otherwise
the next version is planned for the end of September.
