Maverick Console Version 3.5 Beta
Introduction:
'Maverick Console' is a Windows 95 Remote Console system for use with the TCP/IP network
protocol (TELNET) and can be accessed by any TELNET compliant terminal emulator such as
the default Windows 95 Telnet version.
It has been written by a Network Administrator to help remotely manage Windows 95 clients
from a central location whilst user continues to work on the system blissfully unaware.
'Maverick Console' is a character based console system designed to supply key management
features used by support staff to deal with many support issues that would normally require
attendance at the system by the support personnel. The character based nature of this system
gives maximum response even over the slowest network link. (This system has been used to
support across Europe using Digital Mobile phone technology at 9600 baud).
The system supplies many features that are unobtainable from any of Windows 95's default
remote management systems, such as memory usage, remote application execution and full process
display and control.
Ideal for managing clients not running user level security (No NT Sever on site, such as DEC
Pathworks server based systems and standalone clients)
This is a no bells and whistles system designed to give maximum impact for minimum code size,
the application is only 55k in size.
The application has two user modes, ADMIN & SUPPORT, SUPPORT having all but KILL functionality
and ADMIN having all functionality.
An encrypted password file is held in a location set by the system manager (Location set in the
registry and can be Local, Network drive letter or UNC based).
