Unzip the adquedit.zip file into its a directory. Read the adquedit.txt file. Make sure you have the registered version of Quake. If you don't, don't bother editing anything. Quake will spite you. If you have used the beta version of AdQuedit, please delete the adquedit.ini file in your windows directory. Run AdQuedit.exe You will get the message "Find me your Quake.exe" followed by an open file dialog box. Hunt around for the oppropriate file and open it. Now you need to specify a palette. You can use the palette included in the adquedit.zip, choose the palette.lmp in your id1\gfx directory, or wait to extract a palette from the pak0.pak file later. If you do the last thing, remember to register it as the proper palette in the defaults dialog box. Read the following box. This is the About box which you can view from the menu in Help->About AdQuedit, or by pressing the question mark icon in the toolbar. AdQuedit is now set up. If you have never done any Quake editing before, I strongly suggest you read the section on pak files next. Read the configuration section of this manual to help you set up AdQuedit to your specifications. |
