WORD RECOGNITION

Word recognition is similar to left to right character recognition with
words rather than strings of 3 characters.

In the Set-up menu, the first 2 options for Word Recognition offer a choice
of 5 words, one of them being the same as the word to be recognized
appearing on the left. Recognition is completed by typing 1 to 5 or
clicking.

The last 2 options for Word Recognition introduce a synonym of the word on
the left of the screen, in the 5 choices. The identification of the synonym
adds meaning to the recognition of symbols. This can seem trivial but one
has to be very good at each skill in the reading process to maintain speed
when reading difficult material.
