Users of 'vt' must accept this disclaimer of warranty:

'vt' is supplied as is. The author disclaims all warranties, expressed
or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of
merchantability and of fitness for any purpose. The author assumes no
liability for damages, direct or consequential, which may result from
the use of 'vt'.

'vt' has been tested and improved over a period of three years before
it was published. There are no further versions planned, except for
the unlikely case that serious bugs occur. If you have problems using
'vt', that cannot be solved by following the instructions in the
documentation, you may contact the author for further advice. If the
problems can't be solved satisfactorily and you find you are not able
to use 'vt', you may ask for a refund of your registration payment.

'vt' is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge to the user
for evaluation. Feel free to share it with your friends, but please do
not give it away altered or as part of another system. If you find
this program useful and find that you are using 'vt' and continue to
use 'vt' after a reasonable trial period, you have to make a
registration payment of $5 to the author.

Registered users are entitled to use subsequent versions of 'vt', too,
should there be any, with the exception that, if there is a major
upgrade in functionality, the registration fee will be raised. In that
case registered users will be offered a discount.

You are encouraged to pass a copy of 'vt' along to your friends for
evaluation. Please encourage them to register their copy if they find
that they can use it.

Commercial users of 'vt' must register and pay for their copies of
'vt' within 30 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.

Anyone distributing 'vt' for any kind of remuneration must first
contact the author for authorization. This authorization will be
automatically granted to distributors recognized by the (ASP) as
adhering to its guidelines for shareware distributors, and such
distributors may begin offering 'vt' immediately (However the author
must still be advised so that the distributor can be kept up-to-date
with the latest version of 'vt'.).
