Eric's-WSOCK32.DLL translates a 16bit WINSOCK.DLL to 32bit address space.
WINSOCK.DLL comes from your internet provider.



Installation hints Windows95(R):
---------------------------------

1. save your original \WINDOWS\WINSOCK.DLL as WINSOCK.MS
2. copy the WINSOCK.DLL of your internet provider to \WINDOWS
3. set \WINDOWS\WINSOCK.DLL to read-only attributes

   Users of T-Online or Trumpet TCP/IP should add their online folder
   to their PATH.
   This is usually done in AUTOEXEC.BAT:
   e.g.:  PATH=c:\tonline;%PATH%     or      PATH=c:\trumpet;%PATH%

4. save your original \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.DLL as WSOCK32.MS
5. copy WSA32SRV.DLL and WSOCK32.DLL from this package to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
6. set \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.DLL to read-only attributes
7. make sure, there is no further WINSOCK.DLL or WSOCK32.DLL accessible,
   except \WINDOWS\WINSOCK.DLL and \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.DLL. In case you
   have multiples of these files you should rename them to a different
   extension (e.g. WINSOCK.001,... )



Installation hints Windows NT(R):
----------------------------------

1. if installed, remove MS TCP/IP !!!!
2. change directory to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
3. save your original WINSOCK.DLL as WINSOCK.MS
4. copy the WINSOCK.DLL of your internet provider to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32

   Users of T-Online or Trumpet TCP/IP should add their online folder
   to their PATH.
   This is usually done in AUTOEXEC.BAT:
   e.g.:  PATH=c:\tonline;%PATH%     or      PATH=c:\trumpet;%PATH%

5. copy WSA32SRV.DLL and WSOCK32.DLL from this package to the folder of

   Attention:
   \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WSOCK32.DLL must be the original file from NT!
