Checklist:
Have the skin surface and tissues been sterlized with povidone iodide solution?
Has bleeding been stopped and broken blood vessels sealed?
Have broken bones in the area been reset and connected?
Have foreign objects such as metal fragments been removed from around the wound cavity?
The wound is flushed with saline and cleaned. Inside the cavity you see an organ that
appears to be torn almost in half. Working toward what appears to be a liver, you bring the
parts together and suture them in place using dissolving sutures.
The wound is then closed with dissolving sutures.
