FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wednesday, January 22, 1997 WEB-2000, Inc. 1440 N. Harbor Blvd. Suite 800 Fullerton, CA 92835, USA http://www.web2000.com w2info@web2000.com Toll Free (800) www - 8911 WebPage Wizard New Software Passes the Student / Grandmother Test and Makes Creating Web Pages Easy Fullerton, CA -- WEB-2000, Inc. announced the release of WebPage Wizard today with the claim that now anyone can create Web Pages on the Internet and have set up their own Web Site in 10 minutes. To demonstrate the simplicity of WebPage Wizard, a diskette was given to a 13 year old 8th grade student and to a 60 year old grandmother. Neither of the two had any familiarity with web pages although the student had used the Internet and the grandmother had used America Online for e-mail. WebPage Wizard is a new release from WEB-2000, Inc., which describes itself as an Internet Facilitator. WEB-2000, Inc. provides web site hosting as well as producing custom Internet and Intranet solutions for both large and small companies. WebPage Wizard is the latest product release by the company to meet the need for individuals and small businesses to set up and maintain their own Web Sites without having to know any programming language or have any special training. How did the testers do? The student took about 10 minutes to get her Web Site created through the on-line setup feature and then spent about 30 minutes creating a Home Page and a linked page for a site that features songs lyrics of Weird Al Yankovich. The grandmother took a little longer to get the Web Site set up. She spent 15 minutes after deciding to start over and use a different name for her web site. She then created a Home Page for family history with a link for future pages to be about each branch of the family. This took her about 30 minutes and used standard images for bullets and decorative lines. H. Rudy Nesmith, President of WEB-2000, Inc. when announcing the results of the test stated the purpose of the product: "WebPage Wizard is meant to provide a simple way for anyone to set up a Web Site with pages that they create and can change, add to, or remove anytime they want. It’s not meant to be a highly technical HTML editor, but it allows people to do a lot more than the simplistic web page products that step you through a fixed form and then output a page that you have no control over." WebPage Wizard is available as a free download from the WEB-2000 site at http://www.web2000.com and is being released as Shareware to participating Bulletin Board Services, CD-ROM Distributors, and Shareware Vendors under the guidelines of the Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP). A diskette version is available wholesale to Retailers. The suggested retail price is $19.95, which includes a free month of web site hosting (a $20 value). Members of the press interested in reviewing the product can get a complimentary diskette. Contact: H. Rudy Nesmith WEB-2000, Inc. rnesmith@web2000.com - END -
