Upgrade Procedures Home Cookin features a security key system which makes it easy for you to upgrade when new demo versions are released. Most upgrades consist of bug fixes or minor feature enhancements and are available free of charge to registered users. Major upgrades involve significant changes or additions to the program, and usually carry a small upgrade fee to cover the cost of shipping/handling, supplies, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Home Cookin 2.0 to 2.x versions Maintenance upgrades are FREE! When new demo versions are released, simply download the latest demo version and replace your current HOMECOOK.EXE, HOMECOOK.TXT, and HISTORY.TXT files with those from the new demo version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Home Cookin 1.x to 2.x Version 2.0 is a complete rewrite from version 1.x and includes many enhancements over the earlier versions. Because of this, there is a $15 upgrade fee. To upgrade to Home Cookin 2.0 from version 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4 simply mail a check or money order for $15.00 (US Funds) to: Mountain Software 6911 NE Livingston Road Camas, Washington 98607 USA You'll receive the new version on disk by mail. When you receive it, replace your current HOMECOOK.EXE, HOMECOOK.TXT, and HISTORY.DAT files with those from the disk. Also, copy the DICTION.DAT file from the RECIPES folder on disk to your RECIPES folder. NOTE: Home Cookin 2.0 modifies the basic data structures when you upgrade. Therefore you will not be able to use the older version 1.x program versions with the updated data files once you execute the new version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upgrading from The Recipe Box (Atari ST, Amiga, Macintosh) to Home Cookin 1. The upgrade fee from The Recipe Box (any version) is only $20 (Please provide proof of purchase if you did not mail in your registration card) 2. Transfer your current RECIPES or STORAGE folder to the PC. 3. Rename the RECIPES or STORAGE folder to TRANSFER 4. Place the TRANSFER folder (containing all data files) in the same directory as HOMECOOK.EXE 5. Run Home Cookin to transfer your recipes and groceries to the new version. 6. The TRANSFER folder will be renamed TRANSFER.OLD and may be deleted if you wish.
