 DESCRIPTION-

HPFS needs a major overhaul, or perhaps it needs a
        replacement.

        a. Cache size limitation. Configuration options for
cache should be as flexible, but easier to configure
than HPFS386. That is, user selects minimum and maximum
cache size, or allows the system to dynamically vary
            cache sizes.

        b. Transparent compression options. Idle threads that
monitor file usage every few days to see which are being
            used.

        c. File system links.

        d. Drive letters don't cut it in the increasingly networked
            world.

        e. When adding a drive user should be allowed to add the
drive into the existing volume -- i.e., existing logical
            volume should appear larger.

        f. CHKDSK is really poor.

        g. Bundled backup utility with tape drive support. Better
            tape drive support.
